The Sandy Point peninsula is a waterfront community that has to the west, stunning views of the San Juan Islands, the Strait of Georgia, as well as Mount Baker & the Twin Sisters which dominate the eastern skyline.
Sandy Point is situated on the western shores of Whatcom County on the Strait of Georgia, only minutes from Bellingham & Ferndale’s amenities. This island like oasis is a sanctuary of beauty, uniqueness, and a way of life to some 600 home-owners ranging from entrepreneurs, semi retired & retired as well as a vacation getaways to folks from all over the world. Sandy Point’s amenities include a 9 hole golf course & club house, tennis court, clubhouse, swimming pool and a full calendar of community activities.
Sandy Point is considered a “safe haven” for sea going vessels (Lat.48/47‘ Long.123/41’) with a Marina/moorage, gas dock for residents, with many of the homes with private moorage slips. At almost any home vantage point, you will encounter magnificent sunrises over Mt. Baker and the Cascades to majestic sunsets dipping into the Strait of Georgia and the San Jaun & Canadian Gulf Islands.
The Sandy Point wildlife have a show of their own. From the graceful Blue Heron, soaring Golden & Bald Eagles, gulls & sand-pipers to the majestic whale pods passing by, racing dolphins to the many seals popping up to see what’s going on. When you need a city fix, Canada’s spectacular Vancouver is just 45 minutes north, and then on to Whistler’s Ski Resort or the interior of British Colombia and south 90 minutes to Washington’s Emerald City, Seattle.
